Tuì-nî is a Taiwanese Minnan language, it means the first anniversary of one’s passing.
The story began with the grandpa’s funeral, and I lay in grandpa’s bed, wondering what he saw for this long-term illness. After grandpa's tuì -nî, my father faces to the choose about grandma's elderly care, whether to hire another foreign helper or sent her to a nursing house.
The Japanese film "The Ballad of Narayama", the protagonist sent his mother to the mountain. Father said that he similar to the protagonist, and he will send his mother into the nursing house. After that, grandma had some unknown symptoms and she died suddenly within a few days. Could we make some appropriate judgement to make families comfortable?
故事從外公的喪禮開始，回顧對外公長期臥床的記憶，在外公的對年之後，爸爸面臨奶奶晚年照護的問題該如何抉擇，是該聘用外籍看護或者送奶奶到養老院。爸爸說：「電影《楢山節考》把媽媽送進山裡，現代版的《楢山節考》把自己媽媽送進養老院。」後來奶奶出現不明的症狀，短短幾天內突然地離世。看著親人從衰老到死亡，我們能否做出適當的判斷為他們做選擇嗎？
